Apus Swallow and Swift Box

Apus The WBC Swift nest box is best fitting directly beneath even the narrowest of eaves, and its sloping roof.  The reason for this is it makes it more difficult for other birds or predators to gain entrance.  

Our box is designed keep Starlings out and the entrance hole measures 28 x 65mm.  

• Handmade in the UK, this Swift nest box is made from British Larch
• Overall measurements are 44cm wide, 21.7cm tall (at the back), 12cm tall (at the front) and 20.2cm deep at the deepest point.
• Weight is approximately 3.5kg.

The type of timber used for this nest box is 18mil larch, a red wood providing a long life, and is a natural water repellant.   We use 18mil larch as this thickness is important both for longevity of the nest box, and to offers added insulation for nesting Swifts.
